Fabulously unique diminutive size oval serving platter by Japanese porcelain producer Kutani. This Mid-Century Modern piece has silver hand painted accents. A bamboo stalk and leaves in hand painted silver adorns the surface of this piece along with a fine silver verve. This piece is the perfect example of restrained elegance in a simplistic form. Bamboo symbolizes luck and is a symbol of perseverance. Given as a gift, it symbolizes the wish for a strong life filled with prosperity.
This vintage piece is in very good vintage condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. There are some utensil marks. however, this is a striking piece - regardless of these signs of loving use. Note: This piece has stood the test of time and is not dishwasher friendly. Hand washing with a gentle detergent and drying with a soft towel is recommended to ensure the hand painted accents retain their beauty for years to come.
