The Shure ULXD2/SM58=-H50 is a handheld transmitter that communicates with ULX-D receivers through a digital wireless link in the H50 band that spans 534 to 598 MHz. It ships with the classic SM58 cardioid dynamic capsule, giving performers the familiar sound and feedback control they count on for vocals, spoken word, and backline use.

The transmitter captures audio at 24-bit, 48 kHz resolution and delivers it with less than 2.9 ms of system latency, so monitors and in-ear mixes feel responsive and natural. A maximum line-of-sight range of 328 feet lets presenters, worship leaders, and touring artists move freely across large stages or event spaces without signal dropouts.

Setting up the system is straightforward. Infrared sync pairs the transmitter to a compatible ULX-D receiver in seconds, while Shure Gain Ranging automatically adjusts input levels to protect headroom when vocalists switch between soft passages and powerful peaks. An LCD screen with backlighting shows frequency, group, channel, and remaining battery life at a glance, even in low light.

The SM58 capsule can be swapped for other Shure heads, allowing engineers to tailor response for corporate presentations, broadcast interviews, or instrumental miking. Power comes from two AA batteries for up to 11 hours of use, or from the optional SB900A lithium-ion pack that pushes runtime past 12 hours and supports accurate minute-by-minute metering on the display. Selectable RF output settings of 1, 10, or 20 mW let crews balance battery life, range, and spectrum management.

With its secure AES 256-bit encryption, the transmitter protects confidential content during high-profile events, board meetings, or government briefings. That security, combined with audio fidelity and straightforward control, makes the ULXD2/SM58=-H50 a dependable tool for venues, rental houses, and production teams that demand consistent performance day after day.
